Installation and HD video

Situated between the UEA’s “ziggurat” halls of residence, I’m neither here nor there Part I consists of three large circles drawn on the grass with a white chalk marker.  Proctor’s drawings trace the movement of a body over a period of time, and define a space that will change over the course of the exhibition.  Open to the elements and the effects of human interaction and the growing of the grass, the drawings will fade, wear away, and be periodically retraced in chalk.

The video recording of the making of the work – I’m neither here nor there Part II – captures the repetitive and contemplative act of creation: a permanent record of an ever changing body of work.

To find I’m neither here nor there Part I, turn right out of the Sainsbury centre, walk past the end of the building, down the grassy slope and you’ll find the circles on your right, in front of the tall trees.
